Macroscopical appearances in
various tumor pathologies

Fibroadenoma of the breast
It is a mixed proliferation of
epithelial and connective
tissue. The part in reddish-
orange is the adipose
tissue(it is stained by a
special stain). The adenoma
is nodular, with clear border,
capsulated, white and firm
because of the capsule. It is
mobile and can be felt on
palpation. However there is
no surface elevation. Its
mainly due to high estrogen
levels in the blood. The blue
