Jesus Time
Joseph Becomes a Ruler in a Faraway Land Romans 8:28 God works for the good of those who love him. What did God give to Joseph? God made Joseph a ruler in Egypt. God is able to make bad things work for our good. We can be joyful in all situations knowing that God is in control. We can trust in God to take care of everything in our lives. We can praise God for His goodness even when

Children can open up more and share their ideas when people play with them. Playing along with them gives you an idea of what they have learned and their ideas or plans. Some children have taken an interest in maps. Talk about maps that you use electronic or paper. Show them the map in advance and where you will go on

the map. This involves reading and following directions. It is good for children to know how parents need to follow directions too.

Helpful Hints
Every parent would like to think that their child will be able to eat what they put in front of them. Sometimes texture, taste, look, or smell makes it less than interesting. Presentation can be part of it, taking time to train your childs tastebuds, and also realizing that their taste buds have a stronger sense of taste than ours do. That is part of their challenge. It is possible to train their taste buds. This means saying you can eat 3, 4, or 5 spoons or pieces. Which would you like to choose. Pick something to try once a week or once a month. Tuesday is try something new night. You may eat 3, 4, or 5 pieces of it. I sometimes have the class try new things when we cook. We do that perhaps once in a quarter. They do not have to like it, but at least taste it. If they do not like it, they can say, I do not like it. They may quietly put it into a napkin and throw it away. I have something that homes do not have, peer pressure. What children may turn down at home can be tried here because their peers like it. In todays society with busy moms and dads, eating at restaurants, and eating at fast food places children have so many choices. Children can learn to like things that they have not eaten in the past. Try it Tuesday could be a new thing at your home. Give it a try and see what happens. Enjoy your meal times together. The children grow so fast. Their schedules change so much that this age has its moments to treasure

Family Games
Have your child play a before, after, or between game with you. Try it in the car. Have your child think of a number that comes after 5, 16, 3. What numeral comes after 5? What numeral comes after 16? What numeral comes after 3? Have your child think of a number that comes before 5, 16, 3. Think of a number that comes between 12 and 14, 3 and 5, and 17 and 18. Have your child write their favorite number on your back with their finger. You can do the same to them. Guess what the number is. Write numerals in sand or dry jello. Write numerals in the air. This tactile, motor process reinforces what they learn. It cements the concept in their brain as they go from concrete to semiconcrete to abstract. We focus on the first two items so that they are fully ready to be abstract by first and second grade.

On the Positive side

Thanking God for the people and things we have in our lives makes a great impact on how we feel. Thanking God for the person we are makes a great impact on how we feel. I thank God that I am a child that God has made and saved. I am thankful for the special person He made me to be. I am thankful that I can do. I am confident that even though I make mistakes, I can look to Jesus knowing that I am forgiven. God wants me to know that, though the devil wants me to doubt and focus on the negative. God loves me I will focus on what has been done for me.
