    Today you will learn how to find how long it will take to get somewhere using the equation

    D=RxT Objectives: Understand D=RxT Be able to use conversations from hours to minutes To understand unit speeds

    You could make an educated guess on who was going to win according to previous data?

    Its simple you can take the approximate speed of the horse and the distance traveled to find the amount of time that it will take for the horse to cross the finish line

    Where: Distance = how far you are traveling Rate = how fast the object is traveling

    Time = the time it takes to travel the amount of distance

    A Quick Review..

    If a horse travels 26.5 miles per hour and the distance around the track is .5 of a mile then you can just plug in the information into your D=RxT equation.

    .5miles = 26.5 mph x T


    Divide .5m by 26.5 to get the answer in the time it will take in hours

    T = .018 hours
    Since there is 60mins in an hour you can find how many minutes the horse is traveling by multiplying the Time by 60
