How I LIVEUNITED?
My name is CharlesMiller. I have been marriedfor 25 years to a woman,who is an alcoholic. Weowned our own business andhad a son together.I started to notice that shewas not doing her part of thework at the office and wasnot giving our son the loveand affection he needs rightnow. Several months had past, I moved out in hopesthat she would be aware of how serious things weredeteriorating. She did end upgoing to a therapist in thecommunity who helped her stop drinking. I tried toreestablish our relationship;however, she did not wish toreconcile.I could not handle the situ-ation; therefore, I calledCoastal SamaritanCounseling Center for guid-ance. The staff helped meunderstand that I cannotchange a person. I need to prepare myself to go on with-out her and just be availablefor our son. My friends andchurch have been my supportsystem from the beginningand continue to help methrough this difficult time.I broke away from our  business to open my ownwith the help of our assistantat the old office. My name isCharles Miller and I liveunited by guaranteeing myrelationship with my son andcommunity is strong andhealthy through the work of this United Way CommunityPartner.
