Children’s Sports Recovery Recovery of young athlete’s using anenvironmentally friendly recoverysystem
Children can also be athletes-when they start to compete on a serious level both them and theparents who support them need help with advice on playing and competing in their chosensport-parents are usually the full time backup and support team until the young athlete reachesthe higher echelons of their sportAs support, parents have to transport, cheer on, feed, buy sports clothing and equipment, theydeal with basic injury and generally care for their athletic offspring with the constant aim of helping them achieve the best they can beAll this can be very expensive and time consuming for the average parent who while doingtheir best for the young athlete still has a life to live and money to earn to pay for it allAn area that the supporting parent can become involved with without too much expense andtraining, and one that can have an important bearing on the up and coming athlete and howthey perform is that of recoveryPerformance in sport is important, but no matter how much someone trains and practises, orhow talented they are, this can be detrimentally affected if recovery in between events is notquickly and efficiently achievedSoreness and stiffness is the hidden competitor-they compound and can become an ongoingproblem to young growing bones and muscles in competition-they do not need these holdingthem back and helping the oppositionKeeping the ‘edge’ can mean the difference in some sports of micro-seconds-between comingfirst or second, the gold medal or silver-the Olympics or not-the will to win may sometimes notbe good enough when stiffness is slowing the reaction time of the musclesTo show how stiffness and fatigue can compound, we can visit a 24-hour relay event where theyoung athlete runs for 15 minutes, has 5 hours break and goes back for another 15 minute leg-in all they do 4 periods on the track in the 24 hours.Easy no problems, 15 minutes of running and five hours to recover should be ample, yet eachtime the athlete goes back after having sat down, ate and slept for 5 hours, it gets more andmore difficult to go back out and start moving as soreness sets and the muscles stiffen up.

http://kidsweb.aching-legs-relief.com 2These are 2 people who have just been running for 3 days around a running track in allweathers and they have stiff legs after a few minutes of restingWhen the young athletes first started to come in for help with recovery, I was very surprised (Iwas working on adults and thought is strange that they were having problems) but treated themas I would the older runners and walkers-but I found that their muscles were tighter and theywere subject to a greater pain levelFortunately the system of recovery I use (the World Run Recovery System) accommodatestheir needs adequately to address soreness and stiffness problems-the sporting parent can easilyuse the same system for their young athlete
How can parents help their sporting offspring to recover and keep their sportingedge?
It’s not what you do but the way you do it that countsWhile muscle injury and problem fixing needs to be able towork onthe muscles tohave any effect-Recovery requires workwith themto be effectiveWhy is this so?
In the adolescent athlete, the bones are growing at a faster rate than the muscles can stretch tofit them-even without doing sport and subjecting them to extra stresses, the muscles are tautlike the strings on a guitar or violinLike the strings, if they have too much tension placed on them, they can snap and they have tobe replaced-unfortunately it is not so easy to replace the muscles-and if they are damagedduring these early years of sport, then their career is over before it has startedTo use invasive work as normally used on the young athletes already stressed muscles is goingto put them in danger of being overloaded with too much tension being places on the muscleinsertions-this can create a situation similar to the guitar or violin strings
Recovery
As already discussed, muscles that are recovering do not need working on-they need workingwith-once the parents accept this, it opens up a range of options that they can use to assist intheir sporting child’s recovery, and do this without putting the child at risk of muscle injuryUltra athletes suffer from sore feet, sore legs, swollen ankles, stiffness, wasted muscles, musclecramps, tiredness, mental fatigue, restless legs, sore skin, night pains, muscle spasm, musclewastage, swollen ankles, hyperthermia, hypothermia, temper tantrums, vomiting, foodsensitivity, allergies, rashes, loss of judgement-and that is the good partYet I deal with these on a constant basis when at the events I go to-not with the really medicalstuff of course there are doctors o call for those, but with the muscular and muscle recoverythat comes from the abuse they take on the track
Aching legs fatigued muscles and recovery
The young athlete and ultra marathoners both have the same thing in common-how to recoverfrom their fatigued muscles quickly, without causing injury and the quickest most effective

http://kidsweb.aching-legs-relief.com 3way of doing this is simply to work the calf muscle pump so that the output of used bloodequals the input of fresh blood into the musclesTo stop the muscles fatiguing, fresh oxygen and nutrient filled blood has to keep beingsupplied to the muscles-but when the muscles are fatigued they can’t work at facilitating orsupplying their own needs
The secret to leg recoveryThe calf muscle pump
The calf muscles act as the motor for a pump to take it from the feet back to the body againstgravity through the venous system where it is re-nourished and recirculated-but to be workingthey have to move.Look at the photo above-how many towels and bottles of oil do you see?None because the latest in
non-polluting
, non-technical method of leg recovery techniques isbeing used
The active way to help the legs recover is to learn how to work with the muscles
If you can use your hands you have the tools to do the job of recovery
