NYS SENATE RACES: GOP RETAINS FUNDRAISING LEAD WITHMORE THAN FIVE TIMES THE MONEY INTHE BANK THAN DEMOCRATS
With a month to go before election day, the most recent campaign finance disclosure forms show thatRepublican committees involved in Senate races have 5.3 times as much money in their campaigncoffers as Democrats ones. This is essentially unchanged since July, when they had 5.4 times the money. If current totals for

which haven’t needed to file since July –
wereavailable, there is a good chance that the Republican lead would be greater, due to reports that MayorBloomberg recently gave the Republicans $1 million.Of course, significant sums of money spent in October will come from Super PACs, which are notincluded in these totals. NYSUT has recently pledged to spend a fifth of its $4 million

to aid Senate Democrats, and a mysteriou
s “Common Sense Principles” committee has
recently been funding mailings designed to benefit Republicans.
