Amendments dealing with property taxes and homestead exemptions areopposed by some groups due to their position that tax policy should bemade through legislation and not by amending the state constitution.

Ann 1
Attempts to negate the individual mandate as set orth by ederal healthcare law, but holds no legal sway as the mandate has been upheld by theSupreme Court. The measure could prevent the state rom implementingcertain health care reorms down the road.
OPPOSED BY: Progress Florida, AFL-CIO, FLARA, FCAN, FEA,LWV, NAACP, NCLR and SEIU
Ann 2
Allows or property tax discounts or disabled veterans. Some groupsoppose on the grounds it is not appropriate to use the state Constitution tomake tax policy.
OPPOSED BY: FLARA, FCAN, LWV and NAACP
Ann 3
Makes an unair tax system even more unair or amilies and smallbusinesses. Everyone wants their tax dollars used eectively and to cutwasteul spending, but Amendment 3 won’t do that. It allows Tallahasseepoliticians to protect an unair system that benets large corporations atthe expense o public schools, small businesses and middle class amilies.
OPPOSED BY: Progress Florida, AFL-CIO, FLARA, FCAN, FEA,Florida New Majority, LWV, NAACP, NCLR, Planned Parenthood and SEIU
Ann 4
Among many provisions, this amendment would also give out-o-stateresidents the benet o the homestead tax exemption. That is more o our critical tax dollars or local services fying out o state. This amendment, pushed by real estate and corporate special interests, is estimated to costlocal governments up to $600 million per year.
OPPOSED BY: AFL-CIO, FLARA, FCAN, LWV, NAACP, SEIU
Ann 5
This proposed Amendment is a power grab by Tallahassee politicians whowant to take over our courts. Amendment 5 gives politicians more power over our courts and is really about intimidating justices and limitingpublic access to the judicial system. It is opposed by the people whoknow what works and doesn’t in our justice system – judges and theFlorida Bar Association.
OPPOSED BY: Progress Florida, ACLU, AFL-CIO, Equality Florida,FLARA, FCAN, FEA, LWV, NAACP, NCLR and SEIU
Ann 6
Amendment 6 lets politicians interere in a woman’s most personalmedical decisions. Every woman deserves to make her own personalhealth care decisions based on her values and her doctor’s advice – without politicians interering.
OPPOSED BY: Progress Florida, ACLU, Equality Florida, FLARA,FCAN, Florida New Majority, LWV, NAACP, Planned Parenthood and SEIU
Ann 8
Amendment 8, allows the government to give our tax dollars to any groupclaiming to be a religious organization. Any religious group or sect wouldbe able to use our tax dollars to und their own religious schools. Worse, itincludes no oversight to saeguard our tax dollars, leaving the door open tomassive raud and abuse.
OPPOSED BY: Progress Florida, ACLU, AFL-CIO, Equality Florida,FLARA, FCAN, FEA, LWV, NAACP, Planned Parenthood and SEIU
