named Smudge (aka Betty)throughGerdy’s Rescues & Adop-tions. This is a great way to wel-come an animal, in need, into yourhome when having a pet perma-nently is not an option. If you or anyone you know may beinterested in adopting or foster-ing an animal (cat, dog, rabbit) Iwill help you find the information!

When I wasasked to takeover the Presi-dent’s position I was both terri-fied and excited. Terrified be-cause so many things have grownand improved over the past few years in TLE and would I be ableto keep up the good work? I amexcited because now I can trysome new adventures. Won’t you join me in trying new things, join-ing committees, and/or speakingout about literacy in our commu-nity? As of December 17, 2008,the Board of Directors appointedme as Presidential successor toserve until the next AGM, atwhich time there will be an elec-tion by the membership. Thank you all. Lazar Jevremovic was alsonominated for the position of Di-rector and he graciously ac-cepted. Thank you Lazar!Thank you for your confidence inme and I hope to gain your contin-ued support. ~ Mona Arsenault
