Outline For Persuasive Essay

I. Introduction
A. Attention getter.
B. Introduce the issue.
C. Thesis statement- this should provide a firm position on
the issue and the two reasons why you feel the way that
you feel.
II. Body Paragraph # 1
A. Follow the map of your thesis statement. In order to
support your position, you should be writing about the
first reason in your thesis statement.
B. Support, expand, and provide details or examples to help
prove your first reason valid.
C. As a transition into body paragraph # 2, briefly introduce
the second reason from your thesis statement.
III. Body Paragraph # 2
A. Follow the map of your thesis statement. In order to
support your position, you should be writing about the
second reason in your thesis statement.
B. Support, expand, and provide details or examples to help
prove your second reason valid.
C. As a transition into your conclusion, briefly introduce the
counter opinion that some people might believe.
IV. Conclusion
A. Acknowledge the people who might have counter
arguments and their reasons that they oppose you.
B. Provide a rebuttal to those who have counter arguments
and their reasons.
C. Use a concluding statement that drives your point home
and brings the essay to closure.
