This is an album cover from the band Young Guns with the album Bones.

The album uses a very bright purple ghostly colour scheme. The photography used has been heavily edited into making the model seem very surreal and quite freaky, this attracts a stranger audience. The font used for Young Guns is very bold but isnt very bright, it sort of sits into the background, however this is still very effective and as it is the bands 2nd album they can afford to be less bold about their band name. The text used for the album is a lot brighter, however the font itself is quite messy, but it is also quite a posh font. The lighting from the window at the back really brings out the rest of the album; I could use a backdrop like this.

The colour scheme is again quite nonstandard for this kind of style of music, as the band play rock music, the pinks and purples contrast against the rock and roll aspect of the band. Young Guns decided go for a grainy effect for this cover as this makes the album look a lot more rough and worn, this fits in with the bands style of music. I could try to use effects such as this to give my album cover a specific aspect or texture even. This album is very balanced throughout, as the Bones logo is balanced out by the wooden box in the left corner, the same with the curtain and the wooden plank on the left. This is a good way to make the cover look professional.
