Pray through Gods Story (Week 38)

Focus on God
Pause for a short moment of silence and reflect on the Lords holiness. Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling. (Zechariah 2:13) Sing and rejoice in the Lords presence. Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in your midst, declares the Lord. And many nations shall join themselves to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people. And I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. (Zechariah 2:10-12)

Respond from the Heart

Take time to let God search your heart and reveal any areas of your life where you tend to prioritize your own agenda over Gods kingdom agenda. Consider your ways. Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may be glorified, says the Lord. You looked for much, and behold, it came to little. And when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? declares the Lord of hosts. Because of my house that lies in ruins, while each of you busies himself with his own house. (Haggai 1:7-9)

Seek First the Kingdom

Pray that God would stir up the heart of Christians (especially leaders) to accomplish Gods mission for the Church in this world. In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia(Ezra 1:1); Then rose up the heads of the fathers houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, everyone whose spirit God had stirred to go up to rebuild the house of the Lord that is in Jerusalem. (Ezra 1:5); And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people. And they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God. (Haggai 1:14)

Present Your Requests

Pray for strength in the Spirits presence for doing what the Lord wants you to do. Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the Lord. Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. Work, for I am with you (Haggai 2:4); This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6)

Close in Celebration
Praise God for an amazing evidence of his goodness that makes you shout for joy. And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments came forward with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the LordAnd they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord(Ezra 3:10-11)
