Description

“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,”
-Emily Dickinson
I'm sharing these for free, to encourage their creation for peace, especially the wonderful Tikkun Tree Project.

I love putting craft in service of peace and helping others. Join me in crafting something for those in need this year.

Crochet bird pattern for intermediate-level using the following materials:
Light worsted weight yarn Approximately 20 yards
Small amounts of contrast yarn for beak, neck band, tail or wings (if desired)
F/3.75mm crochet hook
Stitch marker
Yarn needle
Small crochet hook – C or D crochet hook for weaving in ends
Fiberfill small amount (I also like and save yarn bits for stuffing)
Eyes: plastic eyes, dressmaker or boutonniere pins, embroidery yarn

I named the pattern Hope's Birds for my mother, whom I love and miss greatly. She was an exquisite creator of wearables with an unerring eye.
