APAO SHELTER

A VISIT TO BATTERSEA DOG & CATS HOME IN LONDON I have travelled to London invited by APAO partners that have their home there. They knew about my dream to visit this shelter from years ago and when I get there I was amazed that a place like this could exist. They scheduled the trip to make possible the visit to the shelter to know it and learn more about them, but to be there and see it there has been incredible, I knew that the theme of animals in England was very different than here but not as much as I saw. Battersea is a marvel of shelter infrastructure both as philosophy and way of direction, it is also true that strongly influenced by many years of awareness and of course a society and a culture very different from ours, there is much respect to animals and caring for them is normal.

CATS AREA RECEPTION ZONE This center has existed for 150 years and is located in a London neighborhood from wich one the shelter takes his name, the land where it stands was given by the council. Any abandoned dog or cat is always welcome, they never say no, because they have a lot of capacity, many adoptions, an average of 14 daily.

How they got here? with many years of awareness, many people doing particular donations and a lot of support at all levels, they have become in the perfect example in animal protection.
RECORDING ZONE FOR DOGS ON TV

This is something that seems impossible to get here but I guess that after meeting them the most important thing is to learn from them all we can, to get our shelter grows in the same direction than this amazing example of animals shelter.

THE NEW AREA FOR CATS WITH LEuKEMIA As you can see from the picture we move forward with the installation of the new area for cats with leukemia, is being delayed a little more than we had planned because we had not been able to get the entire budget to buy the material, but we are at it.

NEW WORKS IN THE NEW AREA FOR CATS WITH LEuKEMIA

We hope to get it in October and advance the area before winter arrives and our positive cats can enjoy this beautiful space which also is sunny all day. It is essential to complete the outer fence, because is the only thing left so we can transfer the positive cats to this area, but it is the most expensive thing. We need a little help!

Thanks to all !!
