A:
When the Republican Party held a majority of seatsin the New York State Senate in 2008, Republicanlegislative committee chairs were showered withcampaign cash from corporations, including senatorswho did not face a competitive election. When theDemocrats took control in 2009, a big switch occurred:money flowed away from the Republicans and towardthe new Democratic committee chairs. When theRepublicans regained control in 2011, we witnessed
another “big switch.”
