TERMINOLOGY
Meeqaat Ihraam
It is the boundaries at which a pilgrim cannot proceed but in the state of Ihraam. To declare something as Haraam (forbidden). When a pilgrim makes the intention and reads the Talbiyyah, certain Halal (permissible) things become Haraam (forbidden) on him. This word is also used figuratively for the white sheets of cloth. When a pilgrim is in the state of Ihraam and he/she does something that is disallowed in such a state, then he/she has to offer an animal in sacrifice. This is called Damm. To say Labbayka Allaahumma Labbayk. The Black stone. It is a stone from paradise. It is fixed into the wall of the Kaabah at about a mans height. . The wall between Hajre Aswad and the door of the Kaabah The semi-circled area surrounded by a wall the height of a man adjacent to the Kaabah on the north side. While observing Tawaaf it is obligatory to include this area.

To uncover the right shoulder i.e. to put the upper sheet of Ihraam on the left shoulder and by way of taking the cover under the right shoulder. To walk a bit fast (moving shoulders) in the 1 st three rounds of Tawaaf. To kiss as well as to touch Hajre Aswad with hands or to touch it or to touch Rukne-Yamaani. It is a stone from paradise, standing on it Prophet Ibrahim constructed the Kaabah. Nowadays it is placed in a gold caged covering in the Mataaf The name of two hills To walk seven times between Safa & Marwah Two green pillars between Safa & Marwah. Those who perform Saee walk between these green pillars at a brisk running pace. Tent city . A pilgrim stays here in the days of hajj. Types of Hajj
1) Ifraad - Ihraam only for Hajj 2) Qiraan - 1 Ihraam for both Umrah & Hajj 3) Tamattu - 1 Ihraam for Umrah and 1 Ihraam

Hajj Badal
Hajj Badal means to perform Hajj on behalf of someone else and at their expense, provided that Hajj is Obligotory on them and they cannot perform Hajj due to an illness or some other disability
CONDITIONS FOR THE PERSON PERFORMING HAJJ BADAL When entering into Ihraam, you should make niyyah (intention) of performing Umrah / Hajj on behalf of the person who is sending you for Hajj Badal.
You should enter Ihraam with the intention of performing Hajj Badal on behalf of the person sending you ONLY. You are not allowed to make the intention of performing Hajj for yourself or for any other person

NIYYAH AND TALBIYYAH, RULES OF MUSAAFIR
Rules of Musaafir

WATAN ASLI (permanent Residence) WATAN IQAAMAH (temporary Residence), intention to stay in a place for 15 days or more. The person who stays in both WATANS is known as a MUQEEM WHO IS A MUSAFIR? A person who makes a journey beyond 48 miles will be considered a Musaafir THE QASR SALAH OF A MUSAFIR When a person qualifies as a Musaafir according to the Shari`ah he is required to offer two rak`ahs for the Fardh of Zuhr, Asr and Isha Salah. The other Salahs remain as normal. This is only when alone or behind a Musaafir Imam. If he is not a Musaafir then he will complete the rest after the Musaafir Imams salaam. Sunnah Salah are optional, but should be offered SALAH WITH JAMA`AH
Waajib Qurbani has to be offered when a person is a Muqeem, it is not waajib on the Musaafir .

IMPORTANCE OF Talbiyyah: without it a pilgrim cannot enter into the state of Ihraam Talbiyyah must be read using the tongue. Will not count from the heart.
Once is Fardh More than once is Sunnah Whenever read it is recommended to read it three times
No delay between Niyyah and Talbiyyah To recite Talbiyyah excessively is Mustahab, it is Sunnah to recite it out load. IT IS THE SIGN OF HAJJ It is Makruh to decrease (miss out) the words of Talbiyyah Talbiyyah should not be read in Tawaaf & Saee

Prohibitions of Ihraam
Not allowed to have sexual intercourse, or talk about it, or prepare oneself for it and kissing. It is wrong to commit a sin anyway but in the state of Ihraam it is very wrong. To quarrel. To hunt Killing lice Applying fragrance. Wearing stitched clothes. Wearing footwear which conceal the bones on the centre of the feet.

Makruhs of Ihraam
To remove dirt from the body or to wash the head, beard or body with soap, etc. To comb the hair or beard, it is also Makruh to scratch the head or beard in such a manner that there is likelihood of hair or lice falling down. it is allowed to scratch so softly that hair or lice will not fall. To pass fingers through the beard. To stitch the 2 sides of the ihraam (bottom). To tie a knot on the upper sheet. To smell or touch perfume or to sit near it. To conceal nose, chin or cheek with a cloth, but allowed to cover with the hand.

Putting on Ihraam

On or prior to reaching Meeqaat, take a bath if possible, otherwise wudhu. Thereafter put on the sheets of Ihraam. Perform 2 Rakahs with the intention of putting on Ihraam (head covered) After completing the 2 rakahs bareheaded make niyyah ___________, then read the talbiyyah 3 times NOW one must refrain from certain acts which become forbidden. Proceed towards Hajre Aswad (Green Light) Stop Talbiyyah Make Idhtibaa Before the Hajre Aswad make Niyyah Approach the Hajre Aswad corner. Estimate your position & turn facing the Kabah. Raise hands upto ears saying ISTILAAM- Place both hands on Hajre Aswad and kiss it gently without making sound. If kissing is not possible then merely touch it by pointing both hands in the direction of Hajre Aswad saying this dua and kiss them. Now turn towards the right and start walking around the kabah until you reach Hajre Aswad. One round has been completed. Istilaam and then walking around the Kabah 7 rounds are completed. If after Tawaaf there is Saee then there will be Idtibhaa and Ramal. If after Tawaaf there is Saee then making Istilaam before Saee is Mustahab. 2 Rakaahs of Tawaaf must not be offered at Makruh times. Continuous Tawaaf (7, 14, 21 rounds) then 2 Rakaahs for each Tawaaf (7 rounds) Wudhu breaks or Salah started with congregation: carry on where left off. If an extra round was done, then it will be necessary to complete that Tawaaf

Time for Ramee is fom Subh Sadiq til Subh Sadiq of the following day. Masnoon time is from Sunrise to Zawaal.
Qurbani (Damm e Shukr). Shave the head. This sequence is Waajib RAMEE QURBANI

OUT OF IHRAAM Tawaaf e Ziyaarah (Fardh) and Saee (Waajib) Go back to Mina
Time for Tawaaf e Ziyaarah begins at Subh Sadiq on 10th DhulHijjah and ends at sunset on 12th Dhul-Hijjah.
Before sunset leave for Makkah PERFORM TAWAAFUL WIDA (WAAJIB) BEFORE LEAVING MAKKAH.
