Introduction
Meeqaat 
 
It is the boundaries at which a pilgrim cannot proceed but in the state of Ihraam.
 
Ihraam 
 
To declare something as Haraam (forbidden). When a pilgrim makes theintention and reads the Talbiyyah, certain Halal (permissible) thingsbecome Haraam (forbidden) on him. This word is also used figurativelyfor the white sheets of cloth
.
Damm 
 
When a pilgrim is in the state of Ihraam and he/she does something thatis disallowed in such a state, then he/she has to offer an animal insacrifice. This is called Damm
.
Talbiyyah 
 
To say Labbayka Allaahumma Labbayk.
Hajre Aswad 
 
The Black stone. It is a stone from paradise. It is fixed into the wall of 
the Kaabah at about a man’s height.
Multazam 
 
The wall between Hajre Aswad and the door of the Kaabah
Hateem 
 
The semi-circled area surrounded by a wall the height of a manadjacent to the Kaabah on the north side. While observing Tawaaf it isobligatory to include this area.
Rukni Yamaani 
the south western corner of the Kaabah
Mataaf 
The open area around the Kaabah
Tawaaf 
Going around the Kaabah. Seven rounds make a make complete tawaf.

Maqam Ibrahim 
It is a stone from paradise, standing on it Prophet Ibrahimconstructed the Kaabah. Nowadays it is placed in a gold cagedcovering in the Mataaf 
Safa & Marwah 
The name of two hills
Sa’ee
 
To walk seven times between Safa & Marwah
Meelain Aktharain 
Two green pillars between Safa & Marwah. Those who perform
Sa’ee walk between these green pillars at a brisk running pace
.
Mina 
Tent city . A pilgrim stays here in the days of hajj.
Arafaat 
 A pilgrim stays here on the 9
th
of Dhul hijjah
Muzdalifah 
 
It is an open area between Mina and Arafaat
Rami

Jamaraat 
The three pillars in Mina where a pilgrim performs Rami
TERMINOLOGY
1) Ifraad -
Ihraam only for Hajj
2) Qiraan -
1 Ihraam for both Umrah & Hajj
3) Tamattu -
1 Ihraam for Umrah and 1 Ihraamfor Hajj

Types of Hajj
Hajj Badal means to perform Hajj on behalf of someone else and attheir expense, provided that Hajj is Obligotory on them and theycannot perform Hajj due to an illness or some other disability
CONDITIONS FOR THE PERSON PERFORMING HAJJ BADAL
When entering into Ihraam, you should make niyyah (intention) of performing Umrah / Hajj on behalf of the person who is sending youfor Hajj Badal.
You should enter Ihraam with the intention of performing Hajj Badalon behalf of the person sending you
ONLY
. You are
not
allowed tomake the intention of performing Hajj for yourself or for any other person
Can one perform Hajj Tamattu in Hajj Badal?
