The results of our poll taken on October 14th & 15th, 2012 show Randy Altschuler leads the race against Congressman Tim Bishop. Currently Altschuler receives 48% to Bishops 43%, with 9% undecided. Tim Bishops ethically questionable actions have taken their toll on the incumbent Congressman.

Republican Mitt Romney also leads President Barack Obama on the ballot. Romney receives 54% to Obamas 42%, with 4% undecided. Romneys 12 point advantage is strong, as the plurality, 47%, are definitely voting for Romney, compared to just 36% who are definitely voting for Obama.

Further, likely voters in the district are clearly energized to vote against President Barack Obama. Nearly six out of ten voters, 58%, disapprove of President Obamas job performance. The plurality, 46%, strongly disapprove.

Conclusion: With 3 weeks to go to Election Day, Randy Altschuler has the momentum in the race. With enough resources Altschuler can bring his message to the voters and continue to build on the lead he currently has over the embattled Congressman, Tim Bishop. Methodology: This survey of political attitudes was conducted among 400 likely voters in New York Congressional District 1, on October 14th and 15th, 2012. All interviews were conducted by professional interviewers via telephone. Interview selection was at random within predetermined election units. These units were structured to statistically correlate with actual general election voter turnout. The accuracy of the sample of 400 likely voters in NY CD 6 is within +/- 4.9%, at a 95% confidence interval.
