Mental Health America of Colorado
 
(MHAC) is Colorado’s leading nonprofit educator and
advocate working to eliminate the stigma of mental illness and increase access to mental health
treatment. MHAC’S mission is to be the recognized leader, collaborating to promote mental
health, expand access to services, and transform systems of healthcare. Established in 1953,MHAC is an independent nonprofit organization and an affiliate of Mental Health America, theoldest and largest nonprofit addressing mental health issues in the nation.MHAC has a unique internship role available in the Development & Marketing Departmentfocusing on primarily on external communications. This position will work with a group of development professionals in advancing the fund raising and external relations initiative at anorganization that is deeply rooted and highly regarded in the mental health and non-profitcommunities.

General Overview
:The intern will assist with MHAC communication functions of the organization. The intern willhelp to promote the vision and mission of MHAC through external communications.
Location:
1385 S. Colorado Blvd., Suite 610Denver, CO 80222
Parking available on site.
Various tasks and responsibilities will include:Social Media/Website
Updating the MHAC Facebook page (events, activities, news, pictures, etc).Updating Twitter as necessary (especially involving Public Policy statements, eventannouncements, etc).Collecting information for and updating the website as needed, using Ready Portal.
External Communications
Collecting stories and photos for inclusion in the monthly e-newsletter.Writing press releases and articles as assigned.Collecting data on the number of brochures and information that is distributed to anddownloaded by the public.Maintaining Constant Contact e-mail list and creating Constant Contact e-mails asnecessary.
