Since 1978, the Denver Film Society (DFS) has worked to promote the medium of film asboth an art form and a civic forum, developing a program that includes year-roundscreenings, community outreach projects and renowned special events. It is in fact the onlynonprofit organization in Colorado dedicated to engaging both its members and the generalpublic in a lifelong, life-altering relationship with and understanding of film and filmculture.
Entering into it’s third year, the Women + Film Voices Film Fes
tival occurs in conjunctionwith International Women's Day. The 6-day Festival showcase documentaries, feature films,salon discussions, and many in-person guests in order to highlight thought-provoking,inspirational stories of women from around the world. In addition, the
Salon Serieswill feature inspirational and accomplished women from the Denver area, as well as festivalguests, leading discussion on relevant issues featured in the Festival.
Job Description:
Festival’s Producing
Director is looking for 2 motivated and energetic interns to join theteam for Voices 2013, to assist in all aspects of putting together a small film festival. Theintern will work closely with the Managing Director and the Denver Film Society staff topromote the festival as a whole, and will help coordinate coverage and press opportunitiesfor approximately 15 participating films and associated artists. This is a great opportunityto gain valuable hands-on experience on the behind the scenes work of a film festival.We are looking for an intern who is available to work at least 15 hours a week and must beavailable for the festival 3/5
3/10. 2013. Areas of responsibility will include:
Watch preview screeners to gain working knowledge of films at festival
Collect tr
ailers and EPK’s from Filmmakers
Help with Filmmaker Itinerary’s
Help develop and implement a PR and outreach plan of action
Help in writing Press Releases and Media Alerts
Maintain contact with members of the press before the festival and sendpreview screeners when applicable. Handle duplication of screeners asnecessary. Collect preview screeners after festival.
Identify press opportunities for festival and attending filmmakers. Helppitch stories to press (for example, local filmmakers, alumna, first timefilmmakers, award winning films, premieres, etc).
Help with Sponsorship fulfillment 
collecting logo artwork and assemblingsponsor packets.
Help with Red Carpet and press events during the festival
Help with Mobile Film Festival
Other duties as assigned.
