2012 ELECTION SPECIAL
THE IMPORTANT LOCAL ISSUE IS TC COLLEGE TAX DISTRICT
Expansion of the tax district to support Texarkana College is important to all Bowie Countyresidents. TC trained employees keep the economy moving by working in all kinds of businessesincluding hospitals in the area, earning decent wages and
 paying taxes.
The current tax district boundary was put in place in the 1920s. To support a college that serves the entire county and beyond, the expansion to include all of Bowie County is crucial. College President James HenryRussell is speaking at any opportunity to tell the story of exactly how critical this vote is to the futureof Texarkana College.
If you want your vote to count in the Texarkana College election, please remember to turn your ballot over and mark "FOR" in the top right column of theback of the ballot. If you vote a straight ticket and do not mark your ballot separately for Texarkana College then your vote will not count in this important race.

Texarkana College's service area encompasses approximately 1,800 square miles containing allindependent school districts in Bowie County, as well as portions of Cass and Red River Counties. The brightly colored areas above represent Texarkana College's service area, while the bright yellowarea represents the College's current taxing district. Note the difference in the size of the area that hassupported TC and the size of the area served. More support is needed.***********************
