Parents of the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam- Expaining the stance of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamah

The [creed] Aqeeda of Ahlus Sunnah- The parents of the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam were Muwahidoon (people who believed in the oneness [Tawhid] of Allah Taalaa and believers [Muminoon]). They did not commit Shirk. Yet we have people who want to promote their disbelief! According to them the parents of the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam are disbelievers. I seek refuge in Allah! They quote a Hadith quoted by Imam Muslim in his Saheeh that the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam went to visit his Mother [RadiAllahu Taaalaa Anhaa] Sayyidathunaa Aaminah [RadiAllahu Taaalaa Anhaa] and was prohibited from asking forgiveness [Istighfaar] and making Supplication [Dua]. From this they deduce that the reason why the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam was prohibited because they [the parents] died in disbelief. I seek refuge in Allah! Firstly, this contradicts the mass evidence showing that the parents of the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam were believers. From amongst those evidences, the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam said

Allah Taaalaa never ceased to transport me from loins which are pure and wombs which are clean. Allah TaAalaa in the Quran says the Mushrikoon [disbelievers] are [Najis] impurity and the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam is saying that Allah TaAalaa never ceased to transport the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam from pure loins! The Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam said Im the best of you in terms of my father and Im the best of you in terms of my lineage. {Narrated in Imam Al Bukhari with an authentic [Sahih] chain of narrations.} Then the messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam said as narrated by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad on the authority of Abu Rayhaan [RadiAllahu Taaalaa Anh] Whoever attributes himself to nine disbelieving forefathers then he is the tenth one in hell fire. On the battle of Hunayn, the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam said I am the son of Abdul Muttalib and I am a Prophet and it is no lie. What does He SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam mean by this? As aforementioned, the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam informed us Whoever attributes himself to nine disbelieving forefathers then he is the tenth on in hell fire. Question: Why would the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam attribute himself to a disbelieving forefather and then call himself a Prophet? The disbelievers [Mushrikoon] would have said You are taking pride in attributing yourself to Abdul Muttalib but Abdul Muttalib was a disbeliever like us, But they NEVER said this! Even they knew explicity, the forefathers of the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam never committed shirk. Furthermore, the name of the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalams mother was Sayyidathunaa Aaminah RadiAllahuAnhaa means believing woman and Sayyiduna Abdullah RadiAllahuAnh means servant of Allah SubhanAllah! Even the names showed they were believers. So why was the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam prohibited to ask for forgiveness for his mother?

Answer: Asking for forgiveness does not mean they are disbelievers. How do we know this? The Hadith that is narrated by Imam Al Bukhari regarding the major intercession of the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam. When the major intercession of the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam will take place, the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam said My intercession is for the people of major sins of my nation. The people of the major sins will be thrown into the hell fire (the first level of hell fire known as Jahannam). The people in the pit of the hell fire are the hypocrites [Munafiqoon] which is the seventh level and the believers will be thrown in the first level. The Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam will prostrate in front of Arsh of Allah and Allah TaAalaa will say raise your blessed head, you will be given SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam. The Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam will intercede for the first level of Muslims then this will happen second and then the third time. The fourth time he will be stopped from taking out the people. Why? Allah Azzawajal will say, Because you do not have permission and I will take out the people who said There is no God but Allah. If the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalam had been stopped from doing Istighfaar for his own mother, it was not because his mother was a sinner nor a disbeliever. It is because his mother is from those special people sent from Allah TaAalaa. If the Messenger SalAllahuAleyhiWasalams mother was a disbeliever, he would not have been given permission to visit her.
