• If you or your children are going to
dress in costume, allow your pet tosmell and amiliarize themselves withthe costume beore dressing up.
• Keep candy away from pets.
Chocolate (especially dark or bakingchocolate), raisins, candy, and evenwrappers can be atal.
• Avoid dressing your pet in costumes,
which can be stressul or most
animals. If your pet enjoys costumes,
be sure the costume doesn’t restrictbreathing, movement, or vision.
• Keep carved pumpkins with candles
away rom pets, who can knock themover or get burned or singed by candleames.
• Do not bring your dog trick-or-
treating. The noise and conusion o Halloween can spook any animal, andchildren you encounter may be scaredo dogs.
• Feed dogs before a Halloweenparty or trick-or-treating so they will
be less likely to beg or ood.
• Beware of streamers, plastic
spiders, ake cobwebs, glow sticks,and other decorations that could behazardous i swallowed.
• Secure wires and cords from
electric lights and decorations.
If chewed, your pet might suffercuts or burns, or receive a life-
threatening electrical shock.
• Keep pets indoors in a safe place tohide from loud trick-or-treaters. This
will also keep them sae rom thet
or inhumane practical jokes.• Always make sure your pet hasproper ID. If they escape, a collar
and tags and/or a microchip can be aliesaver, increasing the chances thathe or she will be returned to you.

Creamy Burrito Casserole
½ onion (chopped)1 packet taco seasoning16 oz. can reried beans16 oz. can black beans2-3 cups shredded cheddar cheese1 can cream o mushroom soup4 oz. sour cream6 four tortillas Hot sauce
Saute onion until soft, add taco seasoning and stir in refried beans and black beans. Mix soup and sour cream in a separate bowl. Spread 1/2 sour creammixture in the bottom of a casserole dish. Tear up 3 tortillas and place oversour cream mixture. Spoon 1/2 the bean mixture over that. Add a layer of cheese. Here, add hot sauce to taste, if desired. Repeat the layers. Sprinklecheese over the top and bake, uncovered, at 350°F for 20-30 minutes.
