HOMEWORK (Due Jan. 24th)

GATHER:
In order to prepare for the design process,
please gather sources of inspirationand bring them to class on 01/24/09
(i.e. – magazine rip-outs, photographs, scrap imagesfrom the web, actual clothing you own, etc.).
•
VISIT:
If possible,
visit and walk through the TRUE and FTC stores on Haight Street to geta feel of their products.
We will visit the stores as a group next week.
•
WRITE:
After gathering sources of inspiration,
write about your favorite clothing brandsand/or t-shirt designs and mention why you like them.

January 24, 2009 – Visiting TRUE and FTC

ORDER OF THE DAY
1.
Visit TRUE and FTC stores2.
Meet with store reps and/or owners3.
Take pictures of store and products4.
Observe customers (once it opens at 11am)
5.
Talk about t-shirt printing colors and processes (in the store)
NOTES
Stores do not open until 11am. We will plan to meet with a store rep around 10:30am. We may notarrive back to USF until 12pm.
HOMEWORK (Due Jan. 31st)

WRITE:
Write about your
experiences in the stores (what you saw, learned, foundinteresting, etc.)
I will upload photos to our blog

GATHER andWRITE:
Bring 2 ideas
for t-shirt designs and
write about why you chose thoseideas
(i.e. – I want to design a t-shirt about racism and how it is like a chameleon thatchanges colors based off of it’s surroundings. I believe racism still exists, but it is harder torecognize).
