Just like the blog--a wide range of interesting recipes that are well tested, well described, and beautifully photographed.

The Smitten Kitchen is hands down my favorite food blog. Her palate is so similar to my own (she likes eggs far more than I do) that I often feel each recipe was written just for me. Her writing style is so personable that she feels lifelong friend. And don't even get me started on the photography.Everything I love about her blot is right there in her new cookbook along with somany new recipes I hardly knew where to start. I surprised myself by starting with the Harvest Chicken with Grapes and Olives. Followed shortly by Maple Bacon Biscuits, Blue Cheese and Black Pepper Gougères, Linguine with Cauliflower Pesto, and Pancetta White Bean and Swiss Chard Pot Pies, and Cheddar Swirl Breakfast Buns along with a few others.I've loved them all and plan to make them again soon. Just as soon as I make the other dozen or so "I need to make this right now" recipes.

Deb Perelman finally brings her personable recipes to hard-copy, delighting her loyal blog readers. The book is more of what we've come to love about Smitten Kitchen, adorable pictures of Jacob included. For those among us who read cookbooks cover-to-cover like novels, this is a gem, chock to the brim with anecdotes and warm advice. Charming, accessible, yet bursting with originality, I'd be hard-pressed to find a recipe within that I didn't want to make. Gorgeous photography, very consistent formatting, and set apart by thoughtful details, like lay-flat binding.More than worth the wait.

This is a great collection of recipes brought together with a warm sense of humor. The recipes are well laid out and the ingredients list shows the measurements in both imperial and metric, something that is not often done. Her goal is just to have fun cooking, so there is no running around looking for rare ingredients. It just makes you want to get together with friends and family.Free review copy.
