GENERALGENERAL STRIKE NOW! STRIKE NOW!
The onslaught of Tory Cuts which must bestopped at all costs must be met with a fullon GENERAL STRIKE for 5 minutes toshow the POWER and UNITY of theworking class in the face of TORY PARTY AGRESSION. Following the TUCs votelast thursday to call a committee to lookinto the possibility of holding a vote onwhether the TUC should form a strikesubcommittee, the FLR believes it is timeto revive the worker's most formidableweapon: the general strike. Here weshould remember our forebears in thegreat stoppage of 1926 when workceased for a full half hour, or the Sovietsof 1916, famous for their strategy of abrief sit down that overthrew both Tsarismand the bourgeois provisionalgovernment. And let us not forget the Iraqipeople's brave struggle against USimperialism, which consisted of a brief moment off to have a smoke and a chat.TIME TO TAKE THE FIGHT TO THETORIES.

MILLIONS TAKE TO THE STREETS ASRESISTANCE REINVIGORATED
COUNTLESS MILLIONS took to the streets on 20
th
of March to protest the Tory cuts. Much like the Stopthe War marches, energy to combat the cuts stayed high and the slow inexorable creep of depression atthe endless a to b was in no way visible. Fears that the anti-cuts movement might descend into the Labour party and various Socialist factions and 'coalitions' tearing at anti-Tory sentiment like starved dogs with apiece of meat were blown away as Hyde Park overflowed with cheering masses

A proud history: the general strike of 1926
