The International Mobile Innovation Screening 2012 will showcase short films produced on and with mobile devices by international filmmakers at the National Film Archive in Wellington, NZ, on the 23rd November 2012. RSVP: www.mina.pro

On the 24th and 25th November 2012 the Mobile Creativity and Mobile Innovation Symposium will take place at Massey University in Wellington. In its second edition the symposium provides a platform for filmmakers, artists, designers, researchers, ‘pro-d-users’ and industry professionals to debate the prospect of wireless, mobile and ubiquitous technologies in a changing art and design environment and the creative industries.

which are a great addition from MINA’spartner festival for the 2012 program. At thescreening lmmakers from New Zealand,
Germany and Columbia will introduce their
work. MINA’s 2012 special guest is Felipe
Cardona from Bogota, Columbia. He is a
lmmaker, whose mobile lms have beenscreened at Interlm’s Micromovie Award
(Berlin 2004) and the Mobifest Film Festivalin Toronto (2008) among numerous other
international events. Felipe is lmmakerworking with mobile devices and a
Lecturer at the Universidad Externado de
Colombia. This year’s MINA screenings atthe Film Archive include a number of public
premieres showcasing international mobile
lms for the rst time in New Zealand. Thescreening also includes the ofcial openingreception for MINA’s 2nd Mobile Innovation
and Mobile Creativity Symposium, which will

cameras. With the introduction of native

capture in full HD quality even Hollywoodnow recognises the potential of mobile video
production. Several lmmaking tools, such
as tripods, dollies and drones, can transform
one’s smart phone into a professional video
camera including XLR mic connectors and
various lens adapters ranging from sh-eye
