HSPA+, or Evolved High-Speed Packet Access, is a technical standard for wireless, broadband telecommunication. HSPA+ was first defined in the technical standard 3GPP release 7.HSPA+ provides High Speed Packet Access data rates up to 84 Megabits per second (Mbit/s) on the downlink and 22 Mbit/s on the uplink through the use of a multiple-antenna technique known as MIMO (for "multiple-input and multiple-output") and higher order modulation (64QAM). MIMO on CDMA based systems acts like virtual sectors to give extra capacity closer to the mast. The 84 Mbit/s and 22 Mbit/s represent theoretical peak sector speeds. The actual speed for a user will be lower. At cell edge and even at half the distance to the cell edge there may only be a slight increase compared with 14.4 Mbit/s HSDPA unless a channel wider than 5 MHz is used. This book is your ultimate resource for HSPA+ - Evolved High-Speed Packet Access. Here you will find the most up-to-date information, analysis, background and everything you need to know.In easy to read chapters, with extensive references and links to get you to know all there is to know about HSPA+ - Evolved High-Speed Packet Access right away, covering: Evolved HSPA, High Speed Packet Access, E-UTRA, Global Mobile Suppliers Association, High-Speed Downlink Packet Access, High-Speed Uplink Packet Access, List of HSPA+ networks, Huawei E220, List of HSDPA networks, List of HSUPA networks, WiMAX, M1 Limited, StarHub, Singapore Telecommunications, Telstra, Vipnet, Rogers Wireless, SK Telecom, KTF, PCCW, 3GPP, Hybrid automatic repeat request, Elisa Oyj, Hutchison 3G, Ericsson, Dual-Cell HSDPA, DC-HSUPA, 3GPP Long Term Evolution This book explains in-depth the real drivers and workings of HSPA+ - Evolved High-Speed Packet Access.
