East District Weekend 1: - The weekend of 3/4th November was the first of four
East District Championship weekends. This year the entry criteria was made a lot harder and so many of our swimmers who had times well within last years criteria have missed out. Eleven Haddington swimmers competed in the first weekend in the 400m Freestyle, 400m Individual Medley and 1500m Freestyle events. Especial congratulations to Andrew McKnight (12) who won the 10-12 year age group 1500m in a personal best time of 19.30.15. He also finished 2nd in the 400m Freestyle in 5.01.01 Congratulation to Jo Whitelaw (16) who broke the following Club Records Female 16 & Over 400 Free Carolyn Hawkins 01/01/1992 EHNX 4:40.10 Joanna L. Whitelaw at East District Age Group Championships 03/11/2012 4:35.32 EHNX ** Female 16 & Over 400 IM Joanna L. Whitelaw at East Lothian Schools Qualifiers 22/11/2011 ELNB 5:14.06 Joanna L. Whitelaw at East District Age Group Championships 03/11/2012 5:05.56 EHNX ** Emma Crawford (15) finished 4th in both the 400m FS and the 400m IM with personal best times in each swim. Charlie Smith (14) took a whopping 96.10seconds off his previous 1500m time and 14.9 seconds off his 400m FS time. There were also best times recorded by Eve Lissaman, Chloe Laird, Robert Ogilvy and Matthew Thomson

Jack Macks: - Congratulations to Alex Easson and Lucy Lucas who have achieved
the times to move from Blue Fins to Jack Macks Weekend training Sessions: - The Saturday morning session has become very popular. In order to ease the numbers per lane some of the Minnows have been asked to move to a Sunday Morning. Please remember the following changes to sessions. Sunday 11th November no training due to Club Distance Championships Saturday 17th November no training due to Club Championships Sunday 25th November no training as the ceilidh is the night before

Photographs: -the club will be taking photographs of our swimmers over the next two weekends at the distance and club championships. If you have a specific request please let us know. These digital images will then be processed and be available for sale at a costing of 5 for 1 7.50 for 2 or 10 for 3. These images will be available to view on a laptop during lunch times and for a short while at the end of each day. Please note that we will not be printing off any images.

Kit : - Club personalised Hoodies, Kit Bags and Dry Fit T- Tops will be available to order
from Wednesday 7th November. Order forms will be available from Gwen Watt in the Cafe area. Samples will available for their children to try on. Closing date for all orders will be Wednesday 28th November CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP CEILIDH and PRESENTATIONS CORN EXHCHANGE, HADDINGTON SATURDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 2012 - 7PM to 11PM This event is open to all club members and their families and is always a fun evening. The presentations start at 7pm followed by ceilidh dancing. Around 9pm we break for the buffet, draw the raffle, throw 50 pence pieces to a bottle of whisky (adults only) and 50 pence pieces to a tin of chocolates (children only) and then resume the ceilidh dancing. The buffet is provided by the families. There will be a notice on the board at Haddington later this week where you can note what your food contribution will be. We will also bring the list to the Long Distance championship on Sunday 11th November so there will be an opportunity to add your details to the list then. Also bring your own refreshments for the evening. If you would like to volunteer to help set up at the start of the evening or clear up at the end of the evening please add your name to the list on the notice board.

Christmas Shopping Night

Wednesday November 21st 5pm 8.30pm at ZURI Haddington
The club will receive commission from all sales on the night. Parents could pop along when the swimmers are in the pool. Swimmers drop in before or after your swim session. Bring your friends and family. Please help the club to raise funds by supporting this event. Get your Christmas shopping started and enjoy a complimentary glass of something bubbly on the 21st at ZURI, Court Street, Haddington next to M and Co.
