Ooo, Just One More Row!
I never get tired of tubular Peyote. The uses and variations are endless. Let’s explore this fun versatile technique thatwill have you saying, ooh, just one more round!
MATERIALS
11° Seed beads - 2 colorsBeading threadBeading needleTo start we will use a basic odd count peyote stitch that is worked in the round. We will use one color on odd rows anda second color on even rows. This will help you keep track of each round while mastering this stitch. Let’s get started.1.
Pick up 3 beads in color A, leaving a tail 10 – 12 inches in length. Take your thread back through the first beadto create a circle. This will be the base round for your tube. If you have trouble with your beads sliding use astop bead before picking up your first 3 beads.2.
Round 2 will begin with your thread coming out of bead number 1. Use color B for the 3 beads of round 2. Pickup your first bead (#4) for round 2 and go through bead number 2 on the first round. Pick up the second bead(#5) for round 2 and go through bead 3 of the first round. Pick up your third bead (#6) for round 2 and gothrough bead 1 of the first round. You now have 2 rounds complete.3.
Starting every round from here out you will need to step up. To step-up to round 3 pass your thread throughthe first bead of round 2 (#4). Pull your tension tight so your tube takes shape.
