MTV is an American cable television channel based in New York City that launched on August 1, 1981. The original purpose of the channel was to play music videos guided by on-air hosts known as VJs. Today, MTV primarily broadcasts a variety of reality and scripted television programs targeted at adolescents and young adults. Popular music is normally played on this channel.

Scuzz is a British music television channel owned and operated by CSC Media Group (. It launched on 17 April 2003 and has gone on to be the highest-rated rock TV station on UK satellite. The channel plays a broad range of rock and all its subgenres. The daytime tends to play more poppunk, current metal and up and coming artists while the evening plays predominately heavier music ranging from traditional heavy metal, hard rock and punk to deathcore and death metal which no other music channel currently plays.

Kerrang is a digital television station owned by Box Television, which is loosely connected to the magazine, Kerrang!. As of 2005, all of its programme content is music videos, the majority of which is open scheduled, for text requests from their playlist. The majority of songs will be some subgenre of metal or punk.

NME tv was a British music television channel owned and operated by CSC Media Group (formerly Chart Show Channels). This was a similar arrangement to its radio station, NME Radio, which is operated by Town and Country Broadcasting. The channel replaced Minx on 22 November 2007.
