My Journal as a Serf
This morning I woke up at the crack of dawn as usual and started dusting of the house. My job is to create tools for farming and weapons for the knights. I am a blacksmith for the barons land. I work all day from six in the morning to six in the evening. I got a huge order today from the knights because there were threats from a Germanic tribe not far away. They wanted armor, swords and any weapon available. I was putting all my effort into the armor. I was also teaching my new apprentice about how to make the weapons and armor. I finished after putting in the extra four or five hours and went home. I was on the Barons good side. I was loyal to him and was always true to my word with him. In the morning though, the baron himself came to my workplace with a bunch of guards of course. He said that the all the knights swords were bending on impact when they took a strike out of it, but the armor was fine. He got really angry and was so red in the face because the Germanic tribes could be seen over the horizon and the knights didnt have weapons. The baron called for his guards to grab me and take me to where they hung Serfs like me. Before they could take me away, my apprentice, Leonardo spoke up and said it was his fault. He made the swords and I made the armor. And the armor was fine. He put the swords in the oven for way to little time to make the swords go hard. The guards let me go and took him away.
