Message romthe Secretary
The Philippines is at the crossroads. Tough timescall for tough measures. This is so true today whenglobal market challenges confronting businesses seeminsurmountable. It could be more daunting for the smallentrepreneurs. As we embark on a long overdue quest towardsa competitive Philippines poised to become the newTiger of Asia, our marching orders are clear:
Enable rather than just assist.Empower rather than simply provide.Reach out and be felt.
It is no easy task. But that is exactly how we atDTI want it to be – that our services matter to theentrepreneurs. This

featuresour milieu of assistance that will enable, empower, andtrickle down to the masses. Soon, shared services facilities in product design and packaging will be set up in strategic areas to help bringPhilippine products within the reach of the discriminatingglobal market. We will strongly pursue the cluster-basedindustry development using value chain as a tool. Wewill continue to develop industries using the industryclustering approach through the
National IndustryCluster Capacity Enhancement Project (NICCEP).
As we continue to rely on the resiliency of the Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to revitalize thePhilippine economy, we will soon realize that inclusivegrowth is not far-fetched after all.
