RF BASED HOME AUTOMATION
Home
automation is used to controlling of homeappliances. In this project we are going to develop anembedded system, which will control all thesedevices with wireless RF communication. In this project we are using 8051 basedmicrocontroller for controlling the equipments in thehome. RF communication is used to communicateand respond to the remote commands. This automation system can also be used forhome applications. It will control the homeequipment via RF communication.

The system uses a compact circuitry built around8051 microcontroller Programs are developed inEmbedded C. Flash magic is used for loadingprograms into Microcontroller.

The main objective of this project is to develop a home automation system with a RFcontrolled remote. As technology is advancing so houses are also getting smarter.Modern houses are gradually shifting from conventional switches to centralized controlsystem, involving RF controlled switches. Presently, conventional wall switches locatedin different parts of the house makes it difficult for the user to go near them to operate.Even more it becomes more difficult for the elderly or physically handicapped people todo so. Remote controlled home automation system provides a simpler solution with RFtechnology. In order to achieve this, a RF remote is interfaced to the microcontroller on transmitter side which sends ON/OFF commands to the receiver where loads are connected. Byoperating the specified remote switch on the transmitter, the loads can be turned ON/OFFremotely through wireless technology. The microcontroller used here is of 8051 family. The loads are interfaced to the microcontroller using opto-isolators and triacs.
