Allow for rest stops.
Discouragement is often ourbody’s way of saying “Stop! I need rest.” Try takinga nap or getting to bed a little earlier. It’s amazinghow different things will look in the light of morning (Ex. 34:21).2.

Get a new point of view
. Take a few steps backand ask God to help you see his perspective onyour situation. Often what seems to be animpassable mountain in our eyes is only asteppingstone in his (Isaiah 33:17).3.

Have Patience.
It’s easy to get discouraged whenthings don’t go the way you planned. But if you’vecommitted your concerns to the Lord, you can besure he is at work, even when you don’t see hishand (Romans 8:28).4.

Mingle.
Discouragement feeds off isolation. Getout of the house! Go visit some friends. It’samazing how good; old-fashioned fellowship canchase away the blues (Psalm 133:1).

Okay. So things aren’t so good. I’vefound it helpful to set the oven time and allow tenminutes for a good cry. But when the buzzer sounds, Iblow my nose, wipe my eyes, and surrender mysituation to the Lord so I can move on (Ecclesiastes3:4).
