DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES NC ELECTIONS November 15, 2012

I am a historic core resident and work in South Park. I bring a passion for the community that I live in as well of an understanding of the needs of my neighbors. I have worked in downtown since 2002 and had the distinct pleasure of serving on the Grand Ave. partnership as a representative of the Cathedral our Lady of the Angels and seeing the city transform around me over the last ten years. Maintaining the history, art, and beauty of downtown Los Angeles while the city burgeons is my key desire.

Donald Kronos Born near Canada in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and having since traveled throughout North American, Central American, and South America, actor and activist Donald Kronos, is a true adventurer who has known many lifestyles and many hardships and has spent years advocating for a better life for all. His wish is that none should suffer and he strongly believes that such a world is possible, not through faith alone but through a concerted effort to work with each other in an attempt to better understand each others views, needs, desires, and values. He feels that an education system best serves the public when it best serves each individual student and he recognizes that this can not be accomplished by treating students like cattle but rather by acknowledging their individual humanity and fostering their ability to connect with each other on every level.

Tina Pellegrino I am a deeply passionate 12 yr advocate for Downtown Los Angeles. As the Chief of Staff at American Apparel, our growth has paralleled the citys growth. We started small here and now occupy more than 1M sq feet in downtown and employ more than 5,000 people. Its been wonderful to be part of the revitalization of this great neighborhood. My experience in DTLA was not in some fancy corporate office tower, but at 7th and Alameda, at the intersection of the Warehouse District, Little Tokyo, Arts District and Skid Row. Working here has taught me how to get things done, be compassionate, produce a great product, make a difference, work hard and stay organized. Together, weve fought for public transportation, immigration, and environmental causes. Id like to apply these skills even more. Please consider me for DLANC. I would be honored to be of service to this city.

Joshua Levi In the two years I have lived downtown, I have watched its transformation unfold and gained a wealth knowledge and pride for the area. Everyday, I share my knowledge of the area and what is happening with friends and colleagues, and it truly warms my heart to watch the pride and passion for downtown grow. This is an amazing community, and it is my passion to work with the neighborhood council and contribute to its continued success. I hope to gain the resources of the neighborhood council to continue to establish downtown as an exciting and world class destination for all of Los Angeles, and all of the world, to enjoy.

Shaun Pollenz I moved Downtown last year after graduating from law school in Orange County. I love Downtown and I have enjoyed watching the area grow and change, yet I remain unimpressed with this neighborhoods condition. Downtown is a forgotten neighborhood, left for decades to fend for itself in spite of the fact that it is home to our citys government. I am inspired, however, to help Downtown become a safe, vibrant, and economically sound neighborhood instead of the desolate and abandoned framework that it is today. If elected, my priorities will include shutting down the drug tunnel that exists on 5th Street between Rite Aid and Skid Row and bringing in new business development to provide residents with a more complete neighborhood environment.
