Stage 1- Desired Results


Established Goal -Students will understand and utilize terminology related to the human anatomy.

Understandings: -Define and identify the muscular system of the human face. -Define and identify the skeleton system of the human face. - Define and identify the tissue system of the human face.

Essential Questions: - How do we define and identify the muscular system of the human face? - How can we define and identify the skeleton system of the human face? - How can we define and identify the tissue system of the human face?

Students will know. - Students will maximize and apply terminology related to the human anatomy, regarding optometry - They will understand and apply how to utilize terminology of the human anatomy regarding optometry.

Stage 2- Assessment Evidence


Performance Tasks: - Defining key terms on the worksheets using our application to get the definitions and then writing it down on the worksheet I will pass Other Evidence: - Quizzes

out - Coloring in the term then going back and coloring it in on the picture, I will provide them worksheets that will have the picture of the section we are covering and have them use our application to look at the pictures of the face and coloring it in on the worksheet which I will provide - Writing assignments: they will write up explanations of what the picture shows and have to use the correct terminology, we will use the SMART board to post up questions and have them write their responses out on their own. Self-Assessments - Labs: they will use labs to perform pretend eye exams and have to grade each others performance - Take home self quizzes which I will print out and provide to them - Group discussions: students will have to get into groups and discuss and explain the assignment

Stage 3 Learning Plan


. Learning Activities: - I will be using a Web 2.0 tool/application called Animated Pocket Dictionary of Ophthalmology, which will provide students with definitions and videos of what the terms mean. - I will also provide worksheets and in class writing assignments and self quizzes that the students can take back home and have more time to study on their own.
