Dear Friend, Greetings to you on this beautiful November day! Regardless of what is happening around us in the world it is good to know the Lord Jesus is with us and will continue to guide our steps all the way to our heavenly home! At a recent prayer meeting at church, one of the women brought a verse of Scripture as a devotion and it blessed me. Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not (Lamentations 3:57). The quickest way to get the Lord to draw near to you is to call upon His name. We dont have answers to prayer because many times we dont pray! The Scripture says, ...ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss... (James 4:2 & 3). There may be a lot of reasons why we dont, but the Bible is clear that in order to receive answers from God we must draw near to Him and call upon His name. Its as simple as that. The Bible calls Jesus our Prince of Peace. There is no peace like His peace. It is beyond human comprehension. Within that word peace is all types of prosperity, welfare, good health, rest, and well-being. It is a word that is said in passing but to understand it will bring countless blessings. I may be praying for certain material things, but if Gods peace is resting on me then I will have all my needs met and many of my wants will follow, too! The Bible says that He is our peace and He has made it possible for all of us to partake of His goodness. I know I dont deserve it, but I thank God that He sent Jesus so He could make my walk with God possible. Jesus forgave all my sins and took all the punishment due for my sins. Thats what gives me peace with God. It also gives me the assurance that if He would do that then He would see to it that all my needs would be taken care of. There are people who are facing things in their lives and they are fearful. They cant sleep because of fear. They cant eat (or they eat too much) because of fear. They strive but cant obtain the things they are looking for because of fear. But if they would draw near to God, He will give them His peace; not as the world gives, but a lasting peace. His presence is peace. Everything about the Lord is peaceful. He welcomes us into His divine presence and fills us with the peace that passes all understanding. It

keeps our hearts and minds, even in troublesome times. I dont just draw near to Him when things arent going so good for me, but I draw near to Him all the time. I am hooked on His presence! I cant get enough of His Spirit. Many are addicted to things that destroy them. The Christian is addicted to Him who gives life to all who call on His name. Why suffer in fear and dread? Why put yourself in a position where you cannot have hope for a better future? When a person understands that Gods intention for them is peace, the Bible gives us this promise: Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:12 & 13). To know that God doesnt just hear our prayers but He hearkens to them makes my heart rejoice! Prayer is no good unless the Lord answers. For Him to answer prayer means I must know what His will is in that situation. I find that out by studying the Word of God. We study everything else, even things that will never profit us in this life or the next to come. But when you are assured that God hears and hearkens to your prayers you will go to Him all the time! People may be well-intentioned while others may be deceitful, but God cannot lie to you and He cannot fail. When Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in prison during a particularly difficult time in the history of Israel, the Lord spoke to him there and said, Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not (Jeremiah 33:3). Your circumstance or situation will not keep the Lord from hearkening to your prayers. He will move on your behalf when you call upon His name! This day, turn to Him with all your heart and He will turn to you! Draw near to God and God will draw near to you! May God bless you this month. I invite you to our church.
