AMSUNG DEBUTED THE FIRST FOOTAGE OF THE THECHNOLOGY “FLEXI
AND ORIGINALLY EXPECTED TO DELIVER THE FIRST FLEXIBLE SCREENS IN 2012.
It’s been couple years now that we
hear about that new and amazingtechnology! What it is exactly? The new LEDs are made from plastic instead of glass, making them transparent and nearlyindestructible. OLED
(organic light emitting diode)
technology has characteristics with morethan existing technologies. Among the important characteristics of technology includeefficiency, light source, thickness, or viewing angles. The OLED lighting efficiency was measuredand present characteristics of 50 lumens / watt, equivalent to the level of ordinary householdfluorescent lamp. The plastic-based tech allows the screens to be super thin, light and flexibleenough to bend, roll and fold without breakage.
Do you think this technology will change something big in the future? While LEDs are widely regarded as the star lighting technology of tomorrow, OLED - anotheremerging new technology - is also playing an increasingly conspicuous role in next-generationlighting. This is chiefly because both LED and OLED are solid-state lighting technologies, and assuch are likely to massively surpass the luminous efficacy (efficiency) performance of fluorescent lights in the relatively near future; moreover, they do not involve the use of mercury and are capable of meeting the requirements of next-generation lighting in terms of eliminating ultraviolet rays, improved color rendition and added light adjustability.Samsung has beenpromising flexible OLED displays in 2012,but a new report suggests that thecompany had to delay mass production of flexible OLEDsdue to technical issues. On a positivenote, the report says that it's possible that Samsung will overcome the technical issues fast
