The Pilgrims did not have much food to last them through the winter and many died. When spring came, a friendly Indian came and showed the Pilgrims how to plant .

Because the Pilgrims worked hard with the help of the Indians, when time came, they had lots of food to harvest to last through the long winter.

The Pilgrims were so happy for their harvest. They wanted to thank Heavenly Father for the sun and rain that helped their food to grow, so they had a day of celebration with and thanking God.

Because the had been so kind and friendly to the Pilgrims, they invited them to the feast.
