Are you called to be a Deacon?
The Diocese of Austin will be holding informational sessions formen who may be interested in becoming a Permanent Deacon. If you have even the slightest interest or if someone has asked you if you’ve ever thought about becoming a Deacon you owe to yourself (and God) to at least check it out.Wives are enthusiastically encouraged to attend these sessions aswell. A man, if married, can only be admitted to the program,continue in formation and ultimately be ordained with the consentof his wife.The sessions will include a brief history and mission of thePermanent Diaconate, a review of the Qualities and Characteristicsof a Permanent Deacon, an overview of the Diaconal FormationProcess, and a description of the process, documentation andpersonal requirements necessary for applying for admission intoprogram.Sessions will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the diocesan PastoralCenter, 6225 Hwy 290 East in Austin: Nov. 4, Nov. 18, Dec. 9 andJan. 13.If you have any questions or would like any additional informationabout the Permanent Diaconate please contact Deacon Billy at St.Austin Church and he will be happy to visit with you.The Diocese has produced a series of videos on the PermanentDiaconate which can be viewed at http://utcath.us/7o

Restless Heart: The Confessions of St. Augustine, Nov. 28
Restless Heart is a movie about the life of St. Augustine. Mass for the Immaculate Conception, December 7 & 8
The UCC will be hosting two Masses for the ImmaculateConception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Friday, December 7, at5:15 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Ed, and Saturday, December 8, at11:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Dave Farnum. All are invited to helpus celebrate this Holy Day of Obligation!
