P Simpson, I am writing to you on behalf of the student committee in response to your recent memo regarding financial cutbacks at the college. I have to inform you that after a careful consideration we have decided to oppose these drastic measures. The information about the underusing of the transport facilities is incorrect. They are used by nearby all the students at least twice a week. It is also a fact that the free buses are full, especially in winter; they do not run half empty as you stated. Because there is already lack of parking space we cannot support the idea of making the car park available to the general public and also to impose a fee. As for your decision about terminating the free bus services and providing more bicycle stands, I have to inform you that the committee disapproves because there are no cycling lanes in the city and cycling to the college may be dangerous.
