Haddington and District ASC Weekly News

Week beginning 19th November 2012

Club Championships: - This year for the first time the Club Championships were held at Prestonpans over 1 day rather than at Haddington with heats over three training evenings and finals on a Saturday afternoon. Please give me your feedback on the new format. Ninety five swimmers took part. There were lots of exciting races and lists of personal best times. One Club Record and three Championship Records were broken. Well done everybody. Club Record 12 year 100m BK Andrew McKnight 1.16.08 (previously 1.11.21 Matt Thomson)

Championship Records 8 and under 8 and under 13 year 50m FS Megan Hughes 41.96 (previously 43.91 Joanna Whitelaw) (previously 22.50 Hannah Caithness) (previously 1.11.50 Struan Stuart)

25m Fly Debbie Anderson 22.18 100m BK Charlie Smith 1.11.28

Age Group Winners: -The swimmers who made competed in the finals are awarded points according to their finish position with 6 points for 1st down to 1 point for 6th. The points for all four strokes and the Individual Medley (except the 8 and unders) from the previous week are added together and the swimmer with the highest score will be awarded the Age Group Trophy at the Ceilidh and Presentations night next Saturday evening. North District Open and Scottish GP: - You may have noticed that some of our older swimmers who train with the East Lothian Swim Team were missing from the Championships on Saturday. Unfortunately, Scottish Swimming insisted that they competed in Inverness at a grand prix meet results to follow. WISE Schools International: - Congratulations to Emma Crawford who took the Bronze medal in the 100m Breaststroke at the Schools International Meet last weekend. Her time was a British Championships qualifying time. Emma also won a silver medal as part of the Scottish Girls Medley Relay Team. The Scottish Team won 4 trophies at the Meet.

Lost Property: - I have a club T-shirt left on Saturday size small. I did not go round picking up stuff at the end of the competition so if you have lost anything else please try the Mercat Gait centre directly Minnows: - I am very pleased to be able to hand out a pile of stickers following the Club Championships. This year, because the competitions took place at Prestonpans l instead of Haddington I am also able to count both the distance and club championships for the 3 competitions sticker. Kit: - Please note that order forms for Hoodies and Bags need to be completed by next Wednesday 28th November
