Sphalele’s launch now on June 25
By VELILE DUBE on June 08,2011
MBABANE –The launch of a fashiondesignerswebsiteand Sphalele Magagula’s‘Nunuza’ fashion range hasbeen postponed to June 25,
The event was supposed totake place this Saturday, buthas been pushed forward dueto certain technicalities. This was said by fashion blogger,Fanele Chester,"We will no longer be having the launch on June 11 because weare sorting certain things out to make sure the show is bigger and better. I however urge people to mark this date on their calendarsto make sure they do not miss this spectacular event,"she said. The website will feature four local designers namely; Sphalele Magagula-Shabangu, LovingtonDlamini, Zinhle Lukhele and Khulekani Msweli. These designers are the main founders of the project and the reason they decided to have this done is because they want to market local designs, internationally. Magagula - Shabangu will on the same day launch her brand new maternity rangecalled ‘Nunuza’.She says she has always wanted to make garments for pregnantwomen and is grateful that her dream is finally coming true.
"I have had such a fascination for pregnant women, but most of the time you would look at themand they would be looking sloppy. So because of that, I decided I want to dress them, so that theycan also feel good about themselves. I want to change the image of a pregnancyand actually makeit look good, so on the day pregnant women can come see some of the outfits that I have created,"she said. This range will be featured on the website along with a number of others. The name of the websiteis ‘Fashion Window’ and has been given this name because they would in a sense like to ‘open thelocal fashion window to the world’. Included on the day of the launch will bewine tasting, and allthose who will buy tickets will receive a free bottle of wine. Chester said this is the beginning of awhole new era, as far as the fashionindustryis concerned, and people should definitely support thisgreat initiative."We are appealing to anyone who would like to support usto pleasedo so becausethis willindeed
put Swaziland on the map."I therefore encourage people to come in their numbers, and be part of what I believe will take theinternational fashion scene by storm," she said. This event is sponsored by Nisela Safaris and the Matata Group.
