SYNOPSIS
INTRODUCTION
Mesoclimate is described as the climate of a site as influenced by elevation, aspect, slope or distances from large bodies of water. The focus of Mesoclimate studies is usually horizontal surfaces which may extend from kilometers to hectometers. Typically, Mesoclimate temperatures are measured at 1.5 meters and/or at 0.5 meters above the ground, humidity is measured at 0.5 meters above the ground, and wind speed is determined at 1-2 meters above the ground. Mesoclimate considerations are important for the study of urban ecology and bioclimatology.. Mesoclimate is often referred to as Topoclimate for its the topographic influence on a sites climate
MACROCLIMATE LEVEL
CONTENTS OF PROPOSAL:
1. Aim 2. Objective. 3. Methodology 4. Scope of study.
AIM:
The aim of this dissertation is: 1. To understand the energy conscious design approach by the ways of the mesoclimatology. 2. An enquiry to analyze the importance of the climatology and their relevance in todays context 3. To understand and derive inferences - how can this knowledge be put to use in design practice.
OBJECTIVE:
1. Understanding the relevance of Mesoclimate and its application in architecture, focusing on the sustainable architecture. 2. What part of the understanding of climatology and their functioning should/could be included in my design process? 3. How can it affect our design thinking, process and programming?
METHODOLOGY:
The method to be followed for research: 1. Developing a basic understanding mesoclimatology by literature study. of the application of
2. Understanding some basic principles and their practical aspect through a no of case studies.
