Reflective Daybook Entry

This is a daybook entry on the video Growing Up Online. This video was very intriguing and interesting. Although it came out in 2010 it is still extremely relevant to life today. If anything, it is more relevant than ever because the internet has only continued to expand since it debuted. Whether through phones, tablets, etc. everything is expanding, getting bigger, faster, and continually evolving into more and more. Just as the internet has continued to grow and expand, so has the number of sexual predators, cases of cyber bullying, and other types of media that can be potentially dangerous or harmful. As much as kids like to tell themselves that they are safe online (I am guilty of that as well) this video was a huge shock to me, and I can only imagine how much more unsafe I am today that only 2 years ago. This video definitely makes me want to be more safe and think more about what I post online because you never know who is looking you up or trying to find you. I have realized how lax I have been in my own safety on this issue and I want better for myself. It is crazy to think that many parents have no idea what happens with their kids online, and I am actually kind of thankful that I have a group of adults (parents, adults, church) who are looking out for me online.
