Whew, almost spring break

Wow, I felt like we were on a roller coaster these past two weeks as we tried to complete another activity with both formats lecture and group. This time the topics was Dams, and the media format we decided to use this time was a 10-12 slide Powerpoint slideshow about a subtopic about dams. We gave a pre-test and a post-test, and the group definitely showed greater improvement than the lecture. Differences in attendance have been very remarkable. On the day we gave the pop quiz for the post-test, only 4 students out of 55 were missing from the group sections, and 33 students out of 118 were absent from the lecture room. I will be happy even if the results from this study show no difference between the two formats; I know I have come to really enjoy teaching in the TEAL room.
