I. Vision for Technology Use
Compose an overall mission and/or vision which describes the steps the LEA is taking toensure all students/teachers have increased access to technology. Include a list of specific vision statements for system educational improvement over a three year period.
The mission of Jones County is to maximize the academic performance of all students by promotinginnovative instructional practices in a nurturing, safe learning environment in order to graduate confident,self-directed, life-long learners. Our vision is to promote academic achievement, responsible behavior,and ethical character all the while ensuring that graduates are equipped for employment in a global, 21

Century workforce.In Jones County, technology affords the enhancement of our belief in the following:
 All students are unique and learn differently
Differentiated instruction and authentic assessment meet the individualized needs for engagedlearners
 A quality education is a responsibility shared by students, staff, faculty, parents and community
Engaging, collaborative, resource-rich learning environments lead to greater academicachievement
Community involvement is essential for successful schools As a unified district, we operate via a Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) for Technology which containsthe following initiatives.
A
ll educators have access to and maintain an educational web site for student, parent andcommunity use
Parents of 6-12th grade students have access to a secure, web-based application, PowerSchool,which reflects student grades and attendance records
100% of all instructional calendars, unit frameworks, and instructional lessons are posted on theJCS web site
 Authentic means of learning is provided to every student via access to digital video technologies intheir media centers (1-12 grades) and via video studio technologies (9-12 grades)
Professional develop data records are securely housed and maintained via a high performing,online registration database application.
Crisis communication technologies are utilized across the district to ensure the utmost efficiency inkeeping parents abreast of urgent and emergency situations
Instructional technologies are continually evaluated for optimal classroom use in order to promotethe highest level of student achievement
Online applications are provided to our students which offer credit recovery and remediation options
