 Any structure constructed of whatsoever material and used forresidential, business or other purposes is called a building
Purposes
1. To provide shelter to inmates2. to provide sufficient accommodation for the purpose it is build3. to provide protection from heat and sun4. to protect the inmates from the storm, lightening, rain andsnowfall5. To provide protection against thieves and house breakers
PART OF BUILDING
 A building usually consists of two parts
1. Substructure
It is the part of building below ground levelIt is also called foundation
2. Superstructure
It is the part of building above the ground level
