Doors
For movement and access between different rooms of a building and with the outside, doors are provided. A door consists of a frame to which either one or two leavesare hung by means of metal-hinges.If one shutter is used the door is named as
single leaf door
and if two leaves are fitted, it is called
double leafed
.Single leafed doors if provided close the corners of roomsoccupy less space on opening.Double leaf doors are easy to operate and can be made fromsmall scantlings.

There is no specific rule which can fix the size of a doorIt is preferred if the height and width conforms to the brick size so that it can be fixed between proper courses.Rooms in which furniture are to be moved in and out may have door openings not less than
1m
.Stores, kitchen, and bath may have narrow door openings

For residential buildings the following sizes arerecommended.
1. living room 1200x2100mm
2. drawing room1200x2100mm
3. dining room1200x2100mm
4. lounge1200x2100mm
5. bed room1200x2100mm
6. kitchen900x2100mm
7. bath900x2100mm
The heights and widths of door openings are given in the forms of 
10 cm
modulei.e., fraction.
