Thegarnet is a family of minerals that occurs in nature in specific crystal structures. It occurs in nature in many forms that are a mixture of many pure species such as uvarovite, pyrope, almandine,andradite, etc. The word ‘garnetis derived from a Latin word named ‘granatus,’ meaning ‘seeds.’ Greeks called these minerals asgarnetas they found its color resembled the pomegranate seeds.
